About

Hello friends. Welcome to my blog. I am going to take you on a journey of my diecast collection. I love collecting diecast of all types.

In this blog your going to find:

Hot Wheels is a brand of 1:64 scale die-cast toy car introduced by American toy maker Mattel in 1968. It is one of the most famous toy car makers out there today. It was the primary competitor of Matchbox until 1997 when Mattel bought Tyco Toys, then-owner of Matchbox. Many automobile manufacturers have licensed Hot Wheels to make scale models of their cars, allowing the use of original design blueprints. Although Hot Wheels were originally intended for children, they have become popular with adult collectors, for whom limited edition models are now made available.

Matchbox is a popular toy brand which was introduced by Lesney Products in 1953 and is now owned by Mattel, Inc. The brand was so named as the original die-cast Matchbox toys were sold in boxes similar in style and size to those in which matches were sold. Subsequently the brand would encompass a broad range of toys including larger scale die-cast models and various non die-cast lines such as plastic model kits and action figures.
During the 1980s, Matchbox started to switch to the more conventional plastic and cardboard "blister packs" that were used by other die cast toy brands such as Hot Wheels. The box style packaging was re-introduced for the collectors' market in recent years, particularly with the release of the "35th Anniversary of Superfast" series in 2004.

Tomica is the line of die-cast toy vehicles and related products produced by Takara Tomy Co. of Japan (formerly known as Tomy Kogyo Incorporated) since 1970 (Rixon 2005, 99). These seem to have been a by-product of Tomica World, a separate line of motorized trains, vehicles and accessories that Tomy produced since 1959. Tomica World motorized trains and track systems, are based on Plarail (About Tomica 2013).

GreenLight Collectibles, located in Indianapolis, IN, USA is a premier manufacturer and marketer of officially licensed, authentic die-cast replicas. The company was founded by Kevin Davey in 2002. The company sells it's products under fun-to-collect themes in 1:18, 1:24, and 1:64 scale. The excellent detail and features of each car demonstrates GreenLight's attentiveness to authenticity. Each GreenLight die-cast replica is officially licensed. GreenLight is licensed by more than 20 companies in the automotive and entertainment industries. The licensors include General Motors, Ford Motor Company, Chrysler (R), Carroll Shelby Licensing, Barrett-Jackson (R) Auction Company, 20th Century Fox (SPEED (R) Channel), Grand-Am Road Racing Association, Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company and Bridgestone Americas and others.
